What is Hypnotherapy?

We  all experience trance many times a day when walking, driving or watching the television, for example its perfectly natural.  You may drive from one town to another and not remember driving through a village en-route.  During trance, although it may feel as if we have switched off, our brains are actually working four times harder than usual to process information and come up with solutions. Trance heightens our awareness and concentration and during this time we are more susceptible to positive suggestion.

During your Initial Consultation I will gather information from you about your current circumstances and how you would like to move forward. Each session will comprise firstly of talking therapy (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Brief Solution Focused Therapy), followed by deep relaxation hypnotherapy –  tailored to your specific needs.

How many sessions are required?

The number of sessions depends very much on you. Everyone is different, but for feelings of anxiety and stress I would recommend 8 – 12 sessions. Fears and phobias only 4 sessions would be required. Smoking cessation is a one off 2 hour session.
